It was reported in 2998 that cap might be feminized in the Tama river. I explained my view on the issue three years ago. Since then, the following surveys and studies have been couducted. ·measuring the vitelllogenin concentration in male carp in the Tama river and many other rivers. ·estrogenicity in the effluent from sewage treatment facilities. ·ecotoxicity studies of six estrogenic substances. ·monitoring of estrogenic substances in rivers. This article summarized the above and showed my view.
