In April 1997, Yokogawa extended its business to the safety domain with FTS concept. ProSafe series, developed by Yokogawa Industrial Safety Systems B.V., have a certain function intended to stop a process to the safety side as '1Safety Instrumented System: SIS". SIS's "Safety function" is defined in DIN V 19250 and brand-new IEC61508 as well. IEC61508 classifies safety functionality to four levels of "SIL: Safety Integrity Level". It is not allowed to build a safety system by relays or DCS considered with SIL as a safety system. ProSafe-DSP SLS is certified as the most safety system because of its "inherent fail-safe" functionality. This function is realized by its unique technology called as "Magnetic Core Logic" or "SLS Pulse Logic". "SLS Pulse" circuit is totally self-checking and does not need any additional diagnostic circuit or test function. ProSafe-PLC has a high performance of availability as well as safety with loo2D configuration. Because ProSafe-PLC eliminates any common parts and does a dynamic and exhaustive diagnostics.
