Filtration presses ease Greek bauxite handling concerns

In recent months, Mytilineos Group company, Aluminium of Greece has started up its second filter press, helping to eliminate the disposal of bauxite residues in the Corinthian Gulf. A special-purpose filter press, the first used in an alumina production plant in Europe, was installed in 2006 but during 2009, a second system press began trial operations, reportedly with considerable direct benefits.
