摘要

The peculiarities in the response of corn hybrids Pioneer 3978 and Saturn on soil drought at the 12th leaf and tasseling stages have been studied in vegetative experiments. It has been found that the drought at the stage of tasseling more significantly decreases hybrid grain productivity. However Saturn as to this index proved to be more resistant to drought. It could be explained by the less inhibition of photosynthesis of the ear leaf and by its quicker and complete regeneration after the stress. A close correlation between the plant grain productivity under different conditions of water supply, nitrogen nutrition and time intervals between tasseling and silking has been observed. This determines nonspecificity of plant corn resistance to water and nitrogen stresses.
