The impact of retardants upon the morphogenesis and mesostructure of raspberry leaves

It has been stated, that under the influence of the paclobutrazol and dextrel the decrease of the area of the leaf surface of the shoot lakes place. The mass of leaves and the stem, the leaf area also decrease with simultaneous thickening of leaves and higher values in comparison with the control of the values of relative mass of the shoot leaves. The dimensions of the cells of the tissues of the leaf: epidermis, palisade and sponge mesophyle did not change. But after treatment of the plants by retardants the number of chloroplasts in the cells of the assimilated tissues became less. It was concluded, that the decrease of the area and mass of leaves under the influence of retardants was conditioned by the decrease of mitotic activity of marginal meristems.
