A new Orthocladiin species of the genus Propsilocerus (Diptera,Chironomidae) from Taimyr Peninsula [Russian]

The male of the new Orthocladiin species, Propsilocerus taimyrus from the Polar region (Taimyr Peninsula, vicinity of the town of Norilsk) is described. This species is similar to P. jacuticus (Zvereva) (Saether, 1997) in the structure of antenna, the presence of the macsillor palp with 5 articles and setae in the prepisternum thorax. It differs distinctly from P. jacuticus in the presence of posterior anepisternals (PA II) setae, structure of the anal point and ventral lobe of genital gonocoxite, the number of thorax setae (Dc, Pa, Pes), and antenna index. Image emerges in early June.
