CLADOCERA (CRUSTACEA, BRANCHIOPODA) OF CENTRAL YAKUTIA. 4. TAXONOMIC-FAUNAL AND ZOOGEOGRAPHICAL ANALYSES

This paper summarizes the information on the fauna of Cladocera (Crustacea, Branchiopoda) of Central Yakutia and presents some comments on all the found taxonomic groups. Ninety taxa were found; only 81 taxa were identified to the species level. Many new records were made in the fauna of Russia (Central Yakutia, Eastern Siberia); two new species were described. Representatives of most taxa (9 of 81) are distributed only in Eastern Eurasia. A distinguishing feature of the local fauna is the presence of "American" species, the real taxonomic status of which should be verified. The earlier revealed members of the endemic faunal complex, which is characteristic for more southern regions of the Far East, are almost absent in Central Yakutia. As a result of taxonomic revisions of the taxa regarded now as widespread in Northern Eurasia, the proportion of the East-Asian faunal complex is likely to increase further. In general, the cladoceran fauna of Central Yakutia is a mixture of three main faunal complexes: endemic East Asian with the predominance of northern Eastern Siberian - Far Eastern taxa, American East-Asian (Beringian), and widespread Eurasian.
