Nasaac may push Al scrap, alloys up

Free-market secondary aluminum scrap and alloy prices are likely to rise in the coming week if the London Metal Exchange's North American special aluminum alloy contract (Nasaac) retains its recent strength, traders told AMM. Secondary scrap and alloy prices were unchanged Thursday following the Independence Day holiday, while mill-grade scrap prices moved up 2 cents per pound. Mill-grade painted siding rose to a range of 74 to 75 cents per pound, while mixed low-copper clips inched up to 76 to 78 cents per pound.
