摘要

Integrated voice and data transmission raises the efficiency of channel usage. When it is applied to a multi-cell system, we need a channel assignment method which decreases interference between cells. Voice calls require real time transmission with a higher priority over data calls. In this paper, we investigate a method which decreases interference between cells by transmitting data packets with priority for the silence periods of circuit-switched-voice communication. Computer simulation results show characteristics of interference rates, blocking rates, forced terminating rates, and hand-off rates were improved with this method.
