摘要

Liquid metal flow heat transfer in a heated horizontal pipe was experimentally investigated. The flow conditions simulate those in a Tokamak fusion reactor. Nonuniform heating with different heat fluxes on the top and bottom halves of the tube is considered. Particular attention is given to the limiting cases which are as follows: 1) stable density stratification when heating the top half only and 2) unstable density stratification when heating the bottom half only. Temperature fields, streamwise distributions of local and average heat transfer coefficients, temperature fluctuations intensity affected by longitudinal magnetic field measured along the entire tube length are presented. A significant effect of the natural convection on the measured parameters is observed.
