The results of the analysis of complex investigations, based on the recent achievements in the field of calculation of prime influences, that define short currents rates and transient restoring voltages and methods of their limitation are presented. It was found, that in complicated typical schemes, as a rule, maximal single-phase fault currents are higher than three-phase short circuit currents, therefore the problem of single-phase fault currents limitation is very topical. While developing the arrangements directed to short circuit currents limitation it is necessary to use a system approach, which takes into consideration the necessity of decreasing restoring voltages providing the minimum of technical and economic expenses.
