GARNETS FROM ARCHEAN SIALIC ROCKS IN BELOMORSKY COMPLEX

Gneisses of Chupinskaya series and the complex of granitoids included therein have to be considered as two groups of undefended rocks without any transition from one to another. Garnets from granitoids have the higher Ca content in comparison with garnets from gneisses) but this does not relate to some higher pressure while their forming. PT-conditions of metamorphism for granitoids were similar to amphibolitic facies typical for Chupinskaya series paragneisses. The higher Mn content in garnet of granitoids correlates with smaller amount of mafic minerals in these rocks.
