Structural features of cruciform specimens for crack growth resistance tests under conditions of biaxial tension are considered. The analysis of their advantage: and disadvantage: is made. On its basis, a technologically effective structure of acruciform specimen has been proposed which makes it possible to study the crack growth kinetics under biaxial loading in the temperature range from 293K to 20K by the direct observation of the crack propagation zone using optical facilities.
