Electroluminescence of polysilane thin films doped with an energy-matched organic-dye molecule

摘要

Polysilanes emit high efficiency luminescence around near-UV wavelength region originating from one dimensional exitons along main-chain. Considering application to visible wavelength, however, we need to control or shift the emission wavelength. Therefore we directed our attention to intermolecular energy transfer between polysilane and organic-dye molecules. This time we have synthesized Poly-m-(hexoxyphenyl)phenylsilane (PHPPS), from which energy was transferred to coumarin6. In addition to photoluminescence analysis. we fabricated an electroluminescence device of PHPPS/coumarin6 emitting layer, and observed the electroluminescence of coumarin6 due to the energy transfer from polysilane for the first time.
