Development of Youth Mediated Communication Method in Schools to Provide Agricultural Information and Knowledge to Farmers of Bangladesh

According to bureau of statistics of Bangladesh Government, more than 50 percent of the total population directly or indirectly depends on agriculture for living. Same source for information says that the literacy rate of Bangladesh is about 61percent. But this data includes people who can just write few words. The real situation shows (mainly from interviews) that most of the farmers cannot read and write and they are not able to read the instructions provided by the Agricultural authorities of Bangladesh Government. For this kind of situation there was a project in Vietnam by Professor Ninomiya Seishi as YMC (Youth Mediated Communication) project to send the agriculture information to farmers through their children. Author was highly interested inthis project and wanted to start the same project in Bangladesh. The research is on how we can come up with a sustainable method to transfer the information to illiterate farmers through their children in Bangladesh. Or in other words, this research isabout developing YMC method in the schools of Bangladesh.
