Title of the paper: Comparison of the growth of selected target trees in Scots pine in Czech Republic and Germany. In two Scots pine thinning experiments in the Czech Republic and Germany, the development of diameter and height/diameter-ratio of the 200 thickest trees/ha are compared. The experiments have been started in 1956 and 1957 at about 13 m top height. The experiments differ considerably in terms of the growth conditions due to climate, soil and ground water table (tab. 1). The targets of the experiments and therefore the thinning programs are different as well. For the comparison of the data the top height is used instead of age. Since there were only 200 trees/ha left at the latest measurement on 2 of the 6 plots, (150 target trees and 50 other, indifferent trees), for all plots the 200 thickest trees have been taken and split into 4 diameter classes (1-50, 51-100,131-150 and 151-200 thickest trees/ha) for further compilation.
