摘要

My feelings are unequivocal. I hate wax moths. I hate what they do to my hives. I hate the mess they leave behind. I hate the extra work they impose on my already-busy schedule. I hate the way they destroy all the bees' hard work in building that comb. In my mind and my way of thinking, there is nothing more sickening than lifting an inner cover and hearing the crackle of breaking pupae casings. Then, one discovers the filth, the webbing, the frames stuck to the walls of the hive body, and of course, the lack of bees. The clean up is always a hassle and I'm tempted to simply set fire to the whole mess. The old wax foundation needs to be removed and replaced at a cost of my additional time and expense. I grieve the lost potential of a hive I countedand valued as one of my own children.
