Cellular telephones and PHS terminals

These papers outline Toshiba's newly developed cellular and personal handy-phone system (PHS) telephone terminals, and describe the technologies utilized in their development. The personal digital cellular (PDC) telephones were designed inaccordance with the design concept of "compactness and easy operation" using the latest high-density mounting technologies. The PHS telephone terminals have a new appearance and features, targeted at the younger generation of users. Toshiba has alsodeveloped a new-concept PHS terminal equipped with a large LCD display designed specifically for e-mail functions. The cdmaOne digital cellular telephones were developed under a time-to-market concept, and introduced on the U.S. and Japanese markets asthe top group.
