Outline of open process input-output devices

摘要

A tendency of information and control systems toward openness started from computers and networks and is spreading over control and field devices. The open process input-output device (open PIO) jointly developed by Fuji Electric and Yokogawa Electric Corp., a new-generation PIO, meets open networks with small size, high speed, high reliability, and immunity against environment. By promoting open information such as releasing interface specifications in addition to the above technical advantages, the open PIO can be a defacto standard not only in the former applications to monitoring and control but also in promising new fields mainly composed of monitoring.
