摘要

The Southern Hyogo Prefecture Earthquake has led to the increased importance of the resistance of above-ground cylindrical liquid storage tanks to earthquakes. This paper reports the results of EFB experiments using thin-walled model tanks with adiameter of 2 m and the results of three-dimensional FEM analysis. EFB was induced by static loading tests and seismic wave shaking tests. A static analysis was performed on material nonlinearity, geometrical nonlinearity, and uplifting due to elongationof anchor straps. The EFB phenomenon could be simulated well by considering the initial deformation of the tank. Dynamic EFB could be approximately simulated by a time history response analysis with coupled vibration of the liquid and shell plate.
