Weatherability of flexural strength of CFRP subjected to accelerated exposure and non-destructive estimation

摘要

CFRP specimens have been tested underaccelerated exposure experiments. The specimens weremade of epoxy resin and unidirectional carbon fiberprepreg to the fiber orientation angles of 0,45 and 90degrees. In order to clarify the dependence of theexposure period on the weatherability strength, theaccelerated exposure of complex testing is continuedthrough 20 cycles and the relation of their flexuralstrengths and moduli, etc. to the number of cycle areexamined. The variations of flexural strengths,flexural moduli, matrix volume fractions, hardnesses,hydrolytic decomposition of polymer chains andabsorbance peak of infrared spectrums with the exposureperiod are reported in this paper. Furthermore, thenon-destructive estimation for weatherability offlexural strengths have reached the estimated valuesby making full use of the flexural modulus and cyclenumber data. It has been confirmed that the estimatedresults are in good agreement with the experimentalones of accelerated exposure for CFRF.
