Evaluation of integration effect of content distribution and routing in content distribution networks

Recently the content distribution networks (CDNs) are highlighted as the new network paradigm which can improve latency for Web access. In CDNs, the content distribution and content routing techniques are important technical problems. Both technologies should be used in an integrated manner in general, but CDN performance applying both these technologies has not been evaluated in detail. In this paper, we investigate effect of integration of these techniques. We show that integration of content routing technique improving both network delay and server processing delay and content distribution strategy which controls total number of contents in a network in a distributed manner, can improve total performance of CDNs.
