摘要

In order to prevent premature failure of single bevel full penetration welded joint in site welding type steel beam-to-column connection, due to welding defect, single V groove welding for beam flange-through diaphragm welded joint is proposed. An experimental investigation was carried out to clarify seismic performance of the connection designed for ease of fabrication practice. The root opening and the material of welding wire were selected as the experimental parameters, while the groove angle was kept constant at 40 degree. From the experiment, the most suitable combination of the root opening and the material of welding wire has been decided, to insure sufficient ductility of the connection.
