摘要

In this paper, possibility and requirements of micro grinding has been investigated. Four different materials such as cupper alloy, stainless steel, high speed steel, and ultra fine grain cemented carbide has been machined to generate 10-tooth gear shaped parts. The following results are obtained. 1) 10-tooth gear shaped parts with 0.2mm in diameter of shaft, 0.4mm in outer diameter of gear, and 3mm in whole length, can be generated for each material. 2) Materials suitable for micro grinding are ultra fine grain cemented carbide, and high speed steel, because both resulted in little generation of micro burr. 3) In the case of ultra fine grain cemented carbide, proper selection of diamond wheel is important because it is brittle, and tends to break during machining in the condition of large grinding force. 4) Surface roughness does not depend on materials.
