摘要

A new technique is developed for coupling the finite difference scheme to the pseudospectral method. This PSM/FDM hybrid method offers both numerical accuracy and parallel efficiency with large number of processors, so it is quite efficient for 3-D acoustic simulation of large scale model using current powerful parallel computers.To show the feasibility of the newly developed technique, 3-D parallel acoustic modeling of seismic wave propagation for the SEG/EAGA overthrust model is performed. The simulation results clearly demonstrate the efficiency of the hybrid parallel computing with fairly linear speed-up rate even using a large number of processors.
