摘要

The predatory stink bug, Eocanthecona furcellata (Wolff) (Heteroptera: Pentatomidae), is a generalist predator that feeds on larvae of Lepidoptera, Coleoptera and Heteroptera. The potential of the predatory insects as a pest control agent in integrated pest management has been investigated by many scientists. Some researches have been demonstrated that some predators use chemical cues from prey and prey-relations in prey location. These chemicals might be utilized in pest management to control predators.In the present studies, rearing of E. furcellata, observation of bugs' prey-locating behavior to larvae of Spodoptera litura, identification of chemical cues that might elicit prey-locating behavior and characterization of functions of these cues were conducted.
