摘要

The double diffusive convection in a three-dimensional inclined cavity subject to opposing gradients of temperature and concentration is investigated numerically. The Navier-Stokes equations governing the physical problem are discretized using the finite volume method and the SIMPLEC algorithm is used to solve the equations of conservation of momentum coupled with the continuity equation. The parametric study is based on the influence of the Rayleigh number and that of the cavity on the flow and the mass and heat transfers. Streamlines, isotherms and concentrations and the average Nusselt and Sherwood numbers are presented. The results show that the inclination angle has an evident impact on the heat and mass transfer rate depending on the Rayleigh number value.
