摘要

The onset of convection in a couple stress fluid saturated anisotropic rotating porous layer is investigated using linear stability analysis, when the fluid and solid phases are not in local thermal equilibrium. The linear stability analysis is based on normal mode technique. It is assumed that the porous layer is anisotropic. It is also assumed that at the bounding surfaces the solid and fluid phases have identical temperatures. To study the effect of rotation a coriolis term, is incorporated in the momentum equation. A two field model equation each representing solid and fluid phase along with anisotropic term is used for energy equation. The linear stability theory is used to calculate the Rayleigh number for the onset of convection. The effect of couple stress parameter, anisotropic permeability and rotation on the onset of convection is shown graphically. It is found that the rotation, couples tress parameter and thermal anisotropy stabilize the system, whereas mechanical anisotropy destabilizes the system.
