Refractories for Cement Rotary Kilns Coping with Environmental Change in the Cement Industry

After 99,270 thousand tons of maximum annual production,cement production in Japan has been reduced year by year because of economic recession and/or reduction of public investment.Even though,due to recovery demands from damages of Great East Japan Earthquake as well as increase of public investment and civilian demand,cement production stopped declining after 20! l,and cement production at 2016 is approximately 59 million tons,reducing by 40% from the peak period.On the other hand,utilizing unique characteristics of cement production process,great amount of wastes and by- products have been received and recycled as raw material or fuel source,and,in comparison with 20 years ago,almost doubled unit consumption of wastes and by-products per 1 tons of cement production is now achieved.
