摘要

Carbon and silica components in refractories are one of the factors promoting alumina buildup on the inner wall of submerged entry nozzles. This negatively influences on the productivity of continuous casting operation and steel quality . For this reason, various carbonless materials with the carbon content lowered to the minimum extent have been recently developed and applied. The influence of the chemical composition of generally used carbonless refractories on alumina buildup was investigated by observing the alumina buildup under a simulative metal stream in an alumina adhered nozzle.
