摘要

The experimental study aims at working out an optimal proportion of water soluble metal cutting fluid with water that provides good surface finish, increases the tool lifetime and reduces the work hardening effect due to machining. The study is performed on LMW Smarturn CNC machine with Al_2O_3-TiCN Mixed Inserts. The experiment is designed as Taguchi L_9 Orthogonal Array Design. The data are analysed using signal to noise ratio and the optimal parameters are determined using multi response performance index.
