摘要

Multipath routing has received a lot of attention in recent years in the design of routing protocols in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) although most of the existing routing protocols in WSNs are still based on single path routing and they have lack of such features as reliability and robustness. With multipath routing, when one path fails, the source node can choose another path to transmit sensed data to the sink. To further improve the security of multipath routing, we propose in this paper a new algorithm called RMBLT in which we take into consideration the length and the trust degree of each path to form a comprehensive evaluation index as the basis for the selection of the paths. Simulation results show that the performance of our proposed RMBLT algorithm is superior over some single path routing protocols in WSNs. In particular, RMBLT is more energy efficient and has smaller average end-to-end delay, lower frequency of route discovery and higher packet delivery ratio compared to Ad hoc On-demand Distance Vector Routing (AODV).
