摘要

The purpose of this experimental investigation was to analyze the effect of nose radius on surface roughness, in Computer Numerical Control (CNC) turning of EN31 alloy steel in wet condition. The tool geometry (nose radius) on surface roughness was studied and analyzed with the effect of cutting conditions such as speed, feed and depth of cut. Then, the Material Removal Rate (MRR) for the machining process was done by mathematical and analytical methods. Design of Experiments (DOE) was conducted for the analysis of the influence of the turning parameter on the surface roughness and Material Removal Rate by using Response Surface Methodology (RSM) and then followed by optimization of the results using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) to minimize the surface roughness and to maximize the Material Removal Rate. While increasing the nose radius then the surface roughness value was decreased. Material Removal Rate was increased when decrease the surface roughness, the cutting speed values can be significant.
