Some Notes and Observations on the Captive Breeding of a Locality Variant of Pterinochilus murinus Pocock,1897 with comments on other colour variants (Araneae: Theraphosidae)

The World Spider Catalog (2018) currently lists ten species in the genus Pterinochilus: P. alluaudi Berland, 1914, P. andrewsmithi Gallon,2009, P. cbordatus (Gerstacker, 1873), P. cryptus Gallon, 2008,P. lapalala Gallon and Engelbrecht, 2011, P. lugardi Pocock, 1900,P. murinus Pocock, 1897, P. raygabrieli Gallon, 2009,P. simoni Berland, 1917 and P. vorax Pocock, 1897. Of these ten species, only five have been in the pet trade, these being: P. chordatm, P. lapalala, P. lugardi, P. murinus and very rarely, P. vorax (pers. obs.; Gabriel and Sherwood in prep).
