摘要

The phenomenon of existence of a transition foundation stiffness in buckling problem of uniform beam resting on Winkler foundation whether uniform or variable is well known. However, similar studies are not available in the case of vibration problem of such beams, that too, if the beams are initially loaded. In this paper, the existence of a transition foundation stiffness for the vibration problem of a uniform, initially loaded simply supported beam subjected to end concentrated loads is demonstrated. The effect of the initial load parameter on the transition foundation stiffness is brought out through the present study.
