摘要

A computer program (to be registered as InPest) was developed to assess the risk of indoor insecticide use to both applicators and occupants for various types of application including space spraying, electric vaporising, broadcast spraying and residual spraying. The movement of an insecticide in a sprayed room was described as precisely as possible by utilizing various physicochemical equations, which were incorporated in the Fugacity model (Level IV). When insecticide information (molecular weight, vapour pressure, water solubility and octanol/water partition coefficient) was available, InPest was able to simulate the time-dependent concentrations of insecticide in air and residual amounts on the floor, wall and ceiling compartments under variousconditions. Simulation data indicated that the predicted behaviour of the insecticide fully agreed with that measured directly. Based on predicted concentrations, the level of exposure to applicators and room occupants via inhalation, dermal or oral intake were computed and compared with mammalian toxicological data. It was concluded that InPest is a powerful tool for evaluating the safety of indoor-use insecticides with regard to human health.
