Integrated Management of Coriander Powdery Mildew

Powdery mildew of coriader is a major constraint to get potential yield. To manage it, field trials were conducted for three consecutive rabi seasons with an integrated approach. The seed treatment, soil drenching and a spray application 60 days aftersowing with tridemorph (0.01%) recorded the minimum incidence of powdery mildew. Seed yields were consistantly increased. However, in the economics analysis, the treatment of wettable sulphur proved its superiority over other method of control. Since, sulphur is permitted chemical in organic farming, it can be considered as best option for eco-friendly management of coriander powderymildew. A single foliar application with wettable sup'hur (0.2%) on 60 days after sowing also reduced disease incidence and increased yields. While the integrated use of seed treatment, soil drenching and a spray application 60 days after sowing with tridemorph gave a cost benefit ratio of 1:6.2, a spary application of wettable suphur gave a ratio of 1:31.7.
