Energy audit and management for conservation in minerals and metallurgical industries

In the present context of dwindling energy' resources and the gap between the demand and supply of energy; the cost of energy available to Indian industry has escalated steeply Moreover Indian manufacturing sectors has been consuming energy' in a wasteful manner which merits immediate attention. Energy saving measures have, therefore, become a necessity' for Indian industries. Energy audit and management is a powerful tool to identify the areas of abnormally' high energy' uses, and this helps one to take early' corrective measures whenever necessary. This paper examines sortie vital issues related to consumption pattern of commercial energy' in mineral and metallurgical industries with reference to some case studies and scope of its conservation.
