New E Guinea gas find upscales Ophir FLNG but adds delay

Ophir is to expand the size of its floating LNG (FLNG) project off Equatorial Guinea after a new discovery which also uncovered weak oil shows although the timetable has slipped. The Vantage Titanium Explorer drillship has completed the Silenus East-1 well in Block R and lifted mean recoverable resources in the acreage to 3.4 Tcf compared to a previous figure of 2.6 Tcf. This in turn has increased the size of the project from 2.5m TPA to 3.0 TEA.
