HyperD gets US $18m for Guinea rig dispute

Hyperdynamics has just received nearly US $ 18m from a legal dispute with AGR over lengthy drilling campaign back in 2012 for a well in its acreage off Guinea. The US minnow is currently trying to persuade new partner Tullow to go ahead with a well in the block but the litigation centred on the Sabu wildcat which encountered oil shows back in 2012. HyperD claimed that AGR estimated the well would take 52 days at a cost of between $45m to $60m. It says that the well eventually took 151 days and AGR had sought to recover more than $135.6m.
