Tullow is sifting through bids from four contractors for a new CALM buoy as it tries to fast-track the US $600m fix to its Jubilee FPSO off Ghana. An inspection of the FPSO turret by manufacturer SOFEC back in early February uncovered a fault with the turret bearing and a temporary solution has been in place since. The FPSO will now be converted to a permanently spread moored facility, with off-take through a deepwater offloading buoy. A new anchoring system will be put in place later this year to replace the temporary tugs and a second phase will involve rotating the FPSO in the first half of next year.
