Egypt is offering operators new terms to encourage deepwater gas exploration as it focuses on the sector. "Deepwater gas exploration is the future," said Tarek El Molla, Egypt's oil minister. The country is turning its attention to this costly area following a series of large gas finds, including Eni's massive Zohr discovery, and as it tries to move from an importer to an ex- porter of the fuel.
