Shell sees the Tanzania LNG project as "important" although a final investment decision is three vears away at the earliest after the takeover of BG, according to one of the partners. The European major has beeri trying to buy its way into East African gas for some time and was previously tramped by PTTEP for Cove Energy's share in the Anadarko acreage off Mozambique.
