摘要

This paper will discuss the performance of and comparison between signals generated by a triboelectric broken bag detection system, a continuous opacity monitor (COM) and Method 9 Visual Emission Observations conducted during a 45-day study of EAF baghouse emissions. Lee testing included introduction of surrogate iron oxide particulate to simulate opacities on the order of 3 percent and opacity levels greater than 80 percent in the EAF baghouse exhaust. The value of broken bag detection technology over the use of a COM on an EAF baghouse is described in the study.
