摘要

The School of Nursing, University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, hosted a very successful and illuminating First International Symposium on Family Nursing on September 30 and October, 1, 2010. It was one of the celebrations organized to mark the 15th anniversary of the Group of Studies on Family Nursing established by Dr. Margareth Angelo at the University of Sao Paulo in 1995. For the past 15 years, the education and training of teachers and doctoral students and the knowledge transfer, translation, and skill development of nurses and other health professionals has always had as its main goal to awaken the notion of "Thinking Family" in every area of nursing education, research, and clinical practice.
