The development of Chevron's Malange field off Angola is officially on hold pending an improvement in commerciality. As previously exclusively revealed by AOG (see 12 December 2014), Chevron had been due to issue full invitations to bid to selected contractors in January. The plan was quickly shelved with the drop in oil prices and this week the head of E&P at partner Galp, Thore Kristiansen, confirmed this saying: "We have decided that, for the time-being, the Malange field will be delayed until we can get sufficient strength behind the development."
