Repsol has awarded a drilling services contract for its wildcat onshore Kenya that will spud next March. The Tarach-1 well will be drilled on Block 11A which is in the far northwest of the country on the border with Sudan and also very close to Uganda. The firm well will target the prospect which is in the centre of the block and has mean prospective resources of 65m bbl. The optional second well will drill on the 101m bbl Egole prospect.
