BP mulls options for Egypt deep find

BP is looking at both standalone and tie-back options for a new deepwater gas discovery off Egypt. The Salamat well was drilled on a 50km structure and was the first well in the North Damietta Offshore block in the East Nile Delta. It was targeting the new Oligocene play and was drilled by the Maersk Discoverer semisub in a water depth of 2,130ft (649m). It was drilled to a total depth of around 22,965ft (7,000m), the deepest well ever in the Nile Delta.
