Calculation of Deformation and Material Stress of a Rotary Voice Coil Motor Used in Aerospace

摘要

Nowadays rotary voice coil motors are more widely used in space equipments because of their small volume, simple structure and flexible installation, to drive some special mechanism with small load torque and inertia to achieve a precise control in a limited range of angles. The coil temperature of the motor is the key factor influencing operating reliability of these Voice Coil Motors. In this paper, the thermal field and deformation of voice coil motor used in space were studied through thermal circuit analysis and model calculation, and results of influences of different materials to the thermal field were calculated. The highest temperature corresponding to different currents and stress of the rotor with different rotor base structures were also obtained. The research results could provide basis evidences to the design and analysis for this kind of motors.
