A Note on Reversible and Dual Extended Spiking Neural P Systems

Spiking neural P systems, namely SN P systems, are considered as a potential candidate of the third generation of neural-like computing models, which are inspired by the way neuron's spiking and communicating by means of spikes. Extended SN P system (ESNP system for short) is an extension of SN P system with standard rules, which allow the neurons to send multiple spikes along the axons at different moments of time. In this paper, two new variants of ESNP systems, reversible and dual ESNP systems with spiking labels are proposed. One result of this research shows that reversible ESNP systems without time delays demonstrate their characteristic of Turing universal. Moreover, two properties of strongly reversible ESNP systems are proposed. It is achieved that dual and reversible systems with each neuron having in-degree one can compute any semilinear set of vectors.
